Case Study - Alvingham Internet Cafe

Alvingham Village Hall Internet Café 

A disused storeroom has been converted into an internet café at Alvingham Village Hall.  Alvingham is a small village 4 miles North East of Louth with a population of 256 

The café is open

Tuesdays 13:30 to 15:30 & 19:30 to 21:30

Thursdays 15:30 to 17:30

Fridays  19:30 to 21:30
 

The café is manned by volunteers and aims to provide a range of services to the village including 

  • Internet access including e-mail, webcam and blogging facilities
  • Basic tuition in utilising both hardware, software and communications equipment.
  • Tuition in various software applications e.g. MS Office, audio/video, drawing and paint programs.
  • Enhancing/updating the village hall website
  • Creating a forum for the local community to develop the facility for the future.

 Funding for this project was as follows
