Printer Friendly Version (opens in new window)We recognise the importance of providing a website that is accessibile by all users. As a result we have made every effort to ensure that this site can be used easily by people with disabilities.
Adherence To Standards
To ensure we are as accessibile as possible we have made sure that we have conformed to Level A of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, however the majority of pages conform to Double-A or Tripe-A standards.
Accessibility Features
The following features are used throughout the site to enhance the experience for disabled users:
- Navigation
A hidden menu has been placed at the start of each page to allow screen readers to link to the main areas of the page. - Headings & Navigation
HTML heading tags have been used to convey document structure. H1 Tags are used for main titles, H2 to subtitles etc... - Images
All images used on the site that convey information have a descriptibe ALT tag attached to it. Images used for purely decorative purposes have a blank alt tag associated to them. - Font Size
All users can adjust the font size throughout the site via the options in the left menu.
In addition to this the majority of fonts used on the site are sizable via the web browser.
Select View (in your web browser) then Text Size and then selected you prefered size. - Colours
All colours used on the site have been checked to ensure the contrast appropriately with their background colour. - Forms & Fiels
All form fields follow a logical tab sequence to ensure the user can navigate them easily. Additionally all fields have labels and ids attached to them to aid the use of screen readers. - Links
All links used on the site have been written to ensure they still make sense when taken out of content. They also have a descriptive title attached to them to give detail on what the link does. - Tables
Most data tables have properly scoped table heading and body tags and summaries to aid screen readers.
Any tables used for decorative purposes have none of these elements attached to them. - Access Keys
The following access keys have been coded into the site. Note when a link is proceeded by [ x ] where X is a letter or number - this is to denote that this link is linked to an access key.
