Community Lincs have set up this scheme to replace the traditional Village Halls competition with the aim to help more committees develop their hall, whilst recognising the time and hard work volunteers across Lincolnshire put into their community buildings.
By publicising their achievement committees will highlight the quality of the facilities and services available and can prove a very useful marketing and advertising tool.
The Bronze level enables committees applying for funding to check they have the minimum requirements such as supporting documentation.
The scheme gives volunteers confidence they are managing the hall correctly running the hall and assists Community Lincs in ensuring that all halls are up to date with the many issues affecting halls today.
Halls who enter the scheme will be awarded a BRONZE, SILVER or GOLD award depending on their level of achievement. Each award has a 2 year expiry date.
Community Lincs officers and the Village Halls Advisory Committee are available to support committees every step of the way. Training and support can be offered by a variety of ways such as at committee meetings, through the village hall cluster meetings, and by the Community Lincs Village Halls Adviser.
In addition Lincolnshire County Council acknowledge the scheme as an example of good practice and recognise that halls that have achieved an award shows they are making an effort to meet required standards.
