Developed to commemorate Lincolnshire day the competition attracted over 170 entries. BBC Radio Lincolnshire provided valuable support and the winning entry receives four tickets to the Tastes of Lincolnshire Christmas Food and Drink Fair to be held at the Epic Centre at Lincolnshire Showground on 28 and 29 November 2009.
The winning entry was from Dick Carbutt of North Somecotes:
A farmer from Horncastle way
Was having a pretty bad day
An E.U. directive
Caused verbal invective
He grows it, they throws it away!
Second place goes to Gary Fox of Glentham
There was a young farmer called Fred
Who enjoyed the taste of plum bread
He ate local nosh
From Humber to Wash
Including his own Lincoln Red
In third place we have Mary Walsham from Woodhall Spa
Mable Thorpe and her husband Old Leake
PUNNED Lincolnshire place names all week
It As-ter-by said
He got "Noct-on" the head
