Age Concern
Age Concern (Boston and South Holland) are dedicated to assisting older people in the community.

In such a rural area we are always looking for ways to develop community groups, events and links. Currently we have eight day centres, several pop in centres and lunch clubs as well as support the 58 clubs affiliated to us.

Activities are also a regular feature in our calendar of events, which is published quarterly through the Newsletter, these range from bus trips to lunches and are always evolving and developing depending on demand. We are also committed to enabling people in the community access to exercise whether it is New Age Kurling or gentle seated exercise.

We also have ongoing projects which are aimed at people living alone to assist them in staying independent such as cooking for one and the Home Support Service.

We also work closely with businesses in the community and also schools promoting intergenerational work wherever possible. Information and advice on many subjects is available through our office and we also signpost to other service providers.

The Communities Together Project is a very exciting opportunity to enable clubs to receive support and develop new ventures where demand dictates. Taster sessions as well as training will be available for all who would like to participate and for Age Concern Boston and South Holland to work with other Age Concern's across Lincolnshire and share information and develop rural communities.

After the first year the project will be moving onto another region and this will eventually cover all of Lincolnshire's rural areas to be completed by October 2014. We look forward to meeting you soon.
